SUMMARY:Kandeepan Ariaratnam
DESCRIPTION:About:\nI am a Chartered Accountant based in England with a passion for helping businesses\, individuals\, and communities achieve sustainable growth. I was born and raised in Jaffna\, Sri Lanka\, where I witnessed the impact of more than 30 years of civil conflict. Those experiences shaped my belief in the importance of education\, resilience\, and giving back to the community. \nAlongside my work in the UK\, we have established offices in Sri Lanka. Through our presence there\, we are committed to supporting local communities and contributing to their long-term development. We believe that education is one of the most effective ways to help people rebuild their lives and create better opportunities for future generations. \nThroughout my career\, I have been dedicated to providing trusted financial advice while also mentoring and supporting those around me. I strongly believe that investing in education empowers individuals\, strengthens communities\, and creates lasting positive change. It is a privilege to support educational initiatives that give young people the knowledge\, confidence\, and opportunities they need to build a brighter future\, particularly in communities that continue to recover from the challenges of the past. \n<br> \nWhy I support Support Our Schools:\nI have been travelling to Sri Lanka every year\, both on my own and with friends\, to visit schools and support children and their communities. Over the years\, we have provided essential items such as bicycles\, school shoes\, books\, desks\, and chairs – whatever was needed and within our means. \nWhile every contribution made a difference\, I soon realised that our efforts alone could only reach a small number of schools. There were many more children and communities in need than we could support ourselves. That inspired me to create Support Our Schools\, a platform that highlights schools in need and connects them with people who want to make a difference. \nMy belief is simple: together\, we can achieve far more than any individual can alone. By bringing together donors\, volunteers\, and supporters\, we can create lasting change and ensure that more children have access to a safe and inspiring learning environment. \nThis year\, we have had the privilege of partnering with Aiyamiddun\, an organisation that has been doing outstanding work for schools across Sri Lanka. Through this collaboration\, we are able to reach more schools and support even more children in need. \n<br> \nSupported projects:\n \n \n \n \n \n CP/Kalaimagal Tamil Maha Vidyalayam\n \n Completed\n \n\n \n 📍 Kandy Gas Cylinder \n \n CP/Kalaimagal Tamil Maha Vidyalayam is a provincial Tamil-medium school located on Cemetery Road\, Mahaiyawa\, Kandy\, in Sri Lanka’s Central Province.
