Shami Kandeepan

About:

Shami Kandeepan is an accountant and bookkeeper based in London, where she lives with her husband and their two children. Her professional background has developed her appreciation for organisation, responsibility, and the thoughtful use of resources—principles that also influence her approach to supporting community initiatives.

Outside her professional life, Shami enjoys spending time with family and friends and taking part in cultural and community activities. She values the connections these experiences create and the opportunities they offer to bring people together for a shared purpose.

As a mother, Shami has seen how learning, encouragement, and access to suitable resources can shape a child’s confidence and ambitions. Education is particularly close to her heart, and she believes that every child should have the opportunity to develop their abilities, whatever their circumstances.

Through her support for Support Our Schools, Shami contributes to practical initiatives that address school needs and improve children’s learning experiences. Her involvement reflects a desire to help young people gain a strong foundation for their future while supporting the families, teachers, and communities around them.

Why I support Support Our Schools:

As a mother of two children, I understand how much encouragement and a supportive school environment can mean to a young person. Children need opportunities to ask questions, discover their strengths, and develop confidence in their own abilities. I want more children to experience that support, regardless of the resources available to their families or schools.

I support Support Our Schools because it brings people together to respond to practical needs. Providing essential equipment or improving school facilities can help teachers in their daily work and give pupils better opportunities to learn and participate. These contributions may seem modest individually, but together they can make a meaningful difference to school life.

My work as an accountant and bookkeeper has taught me to appreciate the value of careful planning and making resources count. Supporting a project with a clear purpose is a meaningful way for me to contribute and help turn goodwill into something useful for children.

For me, this is also about showing children that their education matters and that people beyond their immediate community care about their progress. I am pleased to be part of an effort that supports their learning today and helps them approach the future with greater confidence and hope.
